Cailyn’s Story
Hi, my name is Cailyn. I believe in slow fashion, in clothing that endures—sweaters that scream, “this is who I am!”. Every piece is made by hand in my studio, using wool from the sheep that I raise on my farm in the Finger Lakes; these pieces are made with love and care and will last a lifetime. I started out as a sweater designer, working in NYC for large retailers and over time my curiosity brought me to the fiber farming side of things and then—oops—I became a farmer!

Overwhelmingly, I was driven by a desire to craft heritage pieces, a sweater you reach for on a blustery day, one that you’ll inevitably pass down if it’s not stolen from your wardrobe first (sorry mom!). I found myself on a mission to breed, blend or create from thin air a fiber that was not only soft, but exceedingly durable—no more pilling after the first or second season. After years of research and testing, I discovered Border Leicesters, a dual purpose heritage breed whose fiber is long and lustrous; it creates the most beautiful yarns and makes for warm, lofty sweaters—the kind of sweaters you can only dream of. I’m glad you’re here, and I’m so excited to be sharing this passion of mine with you.
